Company description should be improved
[edit]Currently company intro reads as Scantrust "is a Swiss company that provides an Internet of things platform for identifying products on the internet." This description may have been referring to a specific feature that often appears alongside barcodes described as GTINs. GTINs "...are also used to identify products sold online."[1] It would be more accurate to say it's a "platform for placing identifiers on products to associate them with information on the internet." June 2020 bad sources
[edit]I have removed several sources that were paid promotion, for example Supplychaindive, where you can get your press release posted for $179. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 16:46, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time and making the modifications ThatMontrealIP, I appreciate it very much. One comment regarding the Supply Chain Dive source, despite that they accept press releases, there is an editorial team and the source [1] was clearly not paid promotion. In my view, it is a secondary source which makes an analysis and commentary regarding the company. May I ask if you could reconsider this source? Thank you, Factfox (talk) 18:32, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nope. The copy in the article also looks like it was derived from a press release. "By using ScanTrust's cloud-based software, companies can keep track of their parts and products and identify weak spots in their supply chains." Either way, it's a lousy publisher.
