Welcome

[edit]

Hello Eaiere, and welcome to Wikipedia. I hope that you have enjoyed contributing and want to stick around. Here are some tips to help you get started:

If you need any more information, plenty of help is available - check out Wikipedia:Questions; ask your question here and attract help with the code {{helpme}}; or leave me a message on my talk page explaining your problem and I will help as best as I can. Again, welcome! strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 17:32, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Henderson's Boys: Eagle Day, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.hendersonsboys.com/book2.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citing books

[edit]

You are perfectly allowed to cite information from a book. You can find out how to add these citations at Wikipedia:Citing sources. Other users should assume that your source is truthful, and some may periodically look up the source in question. If you do not feel comfortable citing sources offline, you could try and find the book in question on Google books or another online source, or find websites which hold the same information. Hope this helped! strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 21:33, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you can learn about categories at Help:Category. Let me know if you still can't find the answer. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 21:35, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on John sheldon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi, that's been moved to John Sheldon, sorry about the deletion warning - obviously a bit of a mixup there, a referenced biography of a Man U player should be welcome here. Cheers and happy editing ϢereSpielChequers 00:16, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Holmes Chapel Primary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable primary school.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Paste Let’s have a chat. 18:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mike Dennehy has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi. Wikipedia:Citation templates and Wikipedia:Citing sources show how to add references. I've added one of the references as an example. Also, I recommend reading Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, as info posted on message boards, such as this, can't usually be used as a source. Let me know if you need any more help. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gustaf Wachtmeister until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion.
