Chris G Bot 3
Is there a bug in the archiving at WP:CHU/SIMPLE? The page seems to be getting longer. Not yet a massive problem, but... --Dweller (talk) 14:32, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, it's running fine. There's always been a deliberate delay between when requests are marked as (not )done, and when they are archived. --Chris 10:00, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- OK, great. --Dweller (talk) 10:43, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- How long does it wait? There are some on the page that were [not] actioned 30 or so hours ago. --Dweller (talk) 15:56, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- {{done}} - 12 hours
- {{not done}} - 36 hours --Chris 12:29, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Bot
Hey man. So I saw that you created a number of bots for Wikipedia. I was wondering if I could get you help with something. A wiki that I have been working on on (www.imfdb.org) has a lot of redirects which redirect to subsections. For example: #REDIRECT [[PAGENAME#SECTION]]
I want to create a bot that will help me find the redirects that don't work because the SECTION part of the redirect is wrong or doesn't exist. I have a good amount of programming experience with python, java, c and c++ but have never tried to create a bot before. Any help would be greatly appreciated! --Zackmann08 (talk) 21:30, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Opinion required
Chris, I note you deleted an image from God of War III, and wanted to know if you were willing to assist with something else. The same user has uploaded this image ([1]) and admitted it is a fan-created image ([2]). From what I know of Wikipedia, this is not appropriate or legal. Can you help resolve this matter?
Many thanks Bluerim (talk) 06:14, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
RfC Bot bug
RFC bot isn't working right. It removed an RfC template seconds after adding it here. What's up? --Nathan2055talk - contribs 03:35, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, that's no bug. Note the timestamp "21:28, 28 February 2012 (UTC)"; the RfC is expired. If you want the RfC to stick, change the timestamp to today's date. (Note, the bot uses the first timestamp of the first signature in the thread) --Chris 06:05, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi, this is just a courtesy note to say that I've unprotected the above page. I can't see any legitmate need for full protection. For RFC bot to work properly, it needs to be able to edit the page; otherwise it creates all sorts of problems. Thank you. --Chris 03:38, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- My apologies, I did not think it would affect your bot.
- It is protected because as it's a proposal by me, there was no reason for any editors in general to edit it.
- Anyway, as bots are autoconfirmed, I'll just semi it then.
- Thanks for the note : ) - jc37 03:46, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Normal?
Is User talk:Czarkoff a normal occurence for RFC Bot? MBisanz talk 00:25, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Nope, that's very much an edge case. Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Proposal by Jc37 was full protected, so the bot couldn't add the rfcid to the template. It should all be resolved now. Thanks. --Chris 04:26, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Worse - it was human error (hangs head in shame) - I didn't know that individuals are contacted by the RFC bot. I kept trying to fix formatting problems with the proposals page, so I kept resetting the number. note also that some are for the talk page and some for the main proposal page. So it took me several times to figure it out.
- You (and whoever else got so many messages) have my great apologies - jc37 04:39, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Good good, I was sure it was something simple. Thanks for checking. MBisanz talk 01:52, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
