Yankee Images

Wow dude, you're a Yankees fan and you're trying to completely destroy the article. That's cool. The guy is the main editor at the site and he gave me permission. But if you REALLY are going to be anal about this, then let me erase them from the deletion page while I send an email to MLB.com so that I can satisfy meter maids like you. -- Sportskido8

KISS sources

I've listed my sources on the articles, but I've relied heavily on Dale Shermon's book Black Diamond which is a very throuogh, and non-biased evaluation of KISS's history (upto the late-90s when it was written).

I also used to have several Guitar World magazines and articles which I remember some details from, although I know that's not terribly reliable so I've looked up old details that I remember online. KISS Asylum website has gone downhill in recent years, it still is decent, but ever since the original web-administrators sold the rights to the website, I've noticed that it isn't as informative as it used to be, case and point is the KISS album Focus. That used to be posted on the website and now you apparently have to buy a copy for its information.

I've also been relying on kissfaq.com for info too. Why do you ask? Do you disagree with some of things I've written?

Listcruft?

What is this term "listcruft" which you used as a reason for deleting a list of songs associated with WW2? If it is a Wikipedia policy it should be defined in some accessible place. I tried searching at the main homepage of Wikipedia, and under Wikipedia help. I know what a list is but I've never seen the term "cruft." Thanks.Edison 03:57, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Black Diamond

Black diamond is a great book, and it has one of the last interview's with Eric Carr and Stan Pendrige too. Somehow the writer booked interviews with those guys while they were alive. He sites his sources very well. You should pic up a copy if/when you get the chance. Darwin's Bulldog 04:00, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

images for Sally Ann Howes

Hello! You've left a message for me regarding an image that you feel is not public domain by the British Government, even though it is from around 1948. It is also a publicity photo used by the studios and managers from that time to promote their client. Perhaps I don't have it coded properly. BTW, yes, I do delete things from my talk page if I feel the issue has been settled or if I feel the issue is beyond my control to fix. Some things I just let go. I just try to build decent biographical pages. Please advise. Thanks. Jenny Arata 14:49, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Weird, don't know why the track numbers would be shifted around by me adjusting the pic! Good eye! I totally missed that. I've also done some minor tinkering with the KISS article as well. Fixing some minor errors and correcting links. Did you still want to see if we could get it featured as a main article?

BTW, glad you liked the "Talk to Me" screenclip. Darwin's Bulldog 19:49, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello again! Thanks for addressing some Wiki issues that I have but I still don't understand how I can go back and add source information, even if I change the copyright information. I can't see how to fix/add source info. Please help with this. Thanks. Jenny Arata 22:42, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your help on the source info

I will go back and properly source and license all the images I have uploaded. Jenny Arata 03:30, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

"Psycho Circus" single distribution

I got a lot of info down, but I don't think that all the details are correct about the single's distribution and availibility. For example, I know that it came packaged with the video for the song, but I'm not sure if the single was available by itself. Any additional info would be great if you have any. Rock and Roll Over contradiction

The RARO article has a contradiction in it, one line states that it was the first KISS record to ship Gold, and another states that it was the first to ship platinum. Which was it? Darwin's Bulldog 08:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

User box for The Fox

Hey, I noticed that you have a user box for Ace Frehley:

My favorite KISS character is The Space Ace.

. And I've also noticed that the four originals all have user boxes. That being said, my favorite KISS member has always been Eric Carr and I'd really love to have a user box like the originals have but with his Fox make-up represented. Who can I talk to or put in a request for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Darwin's Bulldog 23:51, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Odd, I actually found one!
My favorite KISS character is The Fox.

It wasn't there when I looked before, so someone must have added it fairly recently... either way, it looks awsome! Darwin's Bulldog 01:18, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Nice Ace Frehley pic

Hey, just wanted to say that it was cool that you found an Epiphone advirtisement to use for a good pick of Ace on his page. Good lookin' out! Darwin's Bulldog 06:54, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Thnx for adding the history, that added a lot. I think it is close to FA now. You can help make it our next collaboration here. Joe I 03:11, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

AFL

It seems to me that the guardians of Wikipedia are somewhat hypocritical. "Private" sites like Pro Football Reference and Data Base Football, which "promote themselves" and have pop-ups and advertisement on their sites to make themselves money, are ok to be listed in every player's Infobox; yet my page on the Roster of All AFL Players is dismissed as "self promotion" even though I ask nothing of the reader, and the page offers information that is available at NO ONE PLACE anywhere else on the internet. Isn't it conceivable that a user who looks up "Bud Abell" or "Lance Alworth" would like to know where he can find a list of all AFL players in one place?

I have never been able to figure out how to make these "discussions" interactive, or to sign my name. If anyone has a comment on this opinion, they can reach me at RemembertheAFL@aol.com ~ Ange Coniglio

Pro Football Reference

You state: "Profootballreference.com, - - - - - is the most comprehensive statistical site for ALL of pro football.". But many former pro football players are missing from Profootballreference.com, while that does not seem to be the case for databaseFootball.com.

DBF has returned a page for every valid name I have ever searched for. DBF also gives DOB, DOD and other stats that PFR does not. It also specifically states the years a player was in each league, by name. While it does not give all-star information, neither does it perpetuate the subtle bias of saying, like PFR, that for example, Lance Alworth or Billy Shaw were in "Pro Bowls" when they actually were in AFL All-Star Games.

I understand why both PFR and DBF are in the infoboxes. I don't understand why Wikipedia says that a player was in a game that didn't exist in the league he was playing in. Saying Lance Alworth was in a Pro Bowl is like saying a '57 Chrysler was a Mercedes-Benz, because Chrysler and Mercedes are now merged. Mercedes owners might think that is a compliment to the Chrysler, but anyone who owned a '57 Chrysler might take it as an insult. In any case, neither the statement about the Pro Bowl nor the one about the cars is true!! RemembertheAFL 12:51, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Apology

I apologize. I get too passionate at times and blurt. I think I'll take a hiatus from wikipediting for the summer, and spend some time learning more about the rules. Maybe I'll come back refreshed and able to satisfy my need to have the AFL's history properly recorded, while at the same time following proper procedure. Ciao. RemembertheAFL 21:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Can you put this on GA hold instead? We're already working on the concerns. Rlevse 17:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Wait 3 more weeks when it can be fixed in 1-2 days, no thanks. I've lost faith in the GA process.Rlevse 17:43, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Another Crufty list

  • Gap-Toothed Women. As I recall, someone made a movie of that title years ago, and got supermodel Jean Shrimpton and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor among others to comment on film as to what it was like living as a G.T.W.Edison 01:32, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

KISS singles

Hey, I've been on a kick lately where I've been creating articles and editing pre-existing articles on the singles released by KISS. Any additional help on these would be appreciated, so if there are any inperticular singles that you have info on to embellish the articles, that would be cool. BTW, cool work on the KISS mainpage! ;) Darwin's Bulldog 22:49, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Wicked Lester

Congrats on the Wicked Lester article. It's lookin' good. Darwin's Bulldog 01:11, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

NFL History Project Player article

I was googling my father, Hap Moran, and came across a reference to him in the Wikipedia article about Tiki Barber - then I added an article about my father, but would like some people working on the NFL history project to look it over and suggest how to improve it - I'm new to Wikipedia and I'm not sure how to get it on the NFL History Project page - any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Revmoran (talkcontribs)

Thanks

Thanks for taking the steps to correct the capitalization error on Moran and for adding the categories. I see there are many early New York Giants football players who do not have articles - I'll work on some of them. Revmoran 21:06, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Which article is that from as a redirect might be a better idea. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

never mind I found it. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:50, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

There's a statement on the "Goin' Blind" page that says Noel Gallagher (the main force of the band Oasis) included a version of the song on his String Quartet Tribute to Kiss album. This doesn't sound right to me, as I've never known Gallagher to be a KISS fan. Do you know anything about this? Darwin's Bulldog 02:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Wasn't there an alternate cover released for Peter Criss' Let Me Rock You album? Darwin's Bulldog 22:26, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Reginevelasquez.png

This image is candidate for deletion but there are no reasons given. I also can't find any discussion regarding this. Please let us know what else is needed so that we can resolve this problem.

When is it ok to remove the IFD tag?

The Image was removed! Please bring it back. How are we supposed to know if the issue has been resolved? I updated the fair use rationale. What else do we need?

Hello?

Anybody there?

Can you put your answer here please?

Thanks!

I just created an article for Mikel Japp and in doing a little research, I found out that he has more of a muscial history than I originall knew, such as working with The Babys as well as a solo career. If you know anything else about him, please help. Darwin's Bulldog 22:41, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
