Thank you for your message. At the moment I cannot see the problem. I added popular alternative to the radiance software which is available free of charge for everyone. (Radiance is not free of charge as far as I know) Unfortunatly, I could not link to the german wikipedia page of the application.

That is the reason why I added the manufaturer site. It does not matter if you keep my changes or not. For my opinion they were an enrichment for people which are interessted in the lighting topic. The software and simulation topic is a big thing since more and more norms and standards have to be taken into account. 178.203.206.207 (talk) 09:49, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point. Also, there are ways to handle when a Wikipedia article exists in one language but not another, see the list of options at H:FOREIGNLINK. This might be helpful in your case.
Looking back at the article, the assertion that Radiance is used is not sourced. I will see if there are any secondary sources that state that Radiance is used, and if that is not the case I will remove the mention of Radiance. Similarly, I will ask that you find a source that is unrelated to DIALux that says that DIALux is commonly used.
I am not quite sure what you mean when you say Radiance is not free of charge. After a quick check, I find that not only is it free of charge, it is open source, and there is no paid version. IndigoManedWolf (talk) 14:51, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking your time to explain everything a bit.
Oh yes. Radiance seems to be free of charge. That was my failure.
Well you can see a lot of example projects in the dialux community showroom. Projects from all over the world are shown there. Some of them show the comparison of simulation and real scenes. The doctoral thesis from Anahita Davoodi shows up that DIALux is widely used.
A conference paper on Current Use of Lighting Simulation Tools in Sweden gives an insight on the importance.
I deliberately chose mentions from Europe, but not from Germany.
Thanks for the foreignlink. I will try it. 2A02:908:1C24:5700:0:0:0:4374 (talk) 07:58, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Either the doctoral thesis or the conference paper would be good to support the assertion. Looks like you should be good to add back DIALux with the corresponding citation. IndigoManedWolf (talk) 08:09, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aye, I just added it again with the link to the thesis and it is removed again by someone else. For me it's no longer worth the effort. I get nothing out of it.
Nevertheless, thanks for your assistence @IndigoManedWolf 2A02:908:1C24:5700:0:0:0:4374 (talk) 11:25, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, the user can use this software to simulate daylight, plan emergency lighting or carry out an energy assessment. For me, these are all reasons that justify a mention. 2A02:908:1C24:5700:6931:1148:6856:41FD (talk) 14:03, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
