Religious Freedom Tour is the sixteenth byway in the Maryland Scenic Byways program, which travels near some of the oldest churches in the United States of America. It starts in Port Tobacco and initially travels on a north-west loop into western Charles County and back into Port Tobacco before heading south on Chapel Point Road. The route branches down Maryland Route 257, then down Maryland Route 234 into St. Mary's County. Several branch points along the way lead off to various sites of historic significance before the byway ends in Point Lookout.
