Article Evaluation

[edit]

When evaluating the Ernest Cherrington Wikipedia article, I first chose it due to the fact that it had little to no information and thought it would make a good Wikipedia page to add to. It wasn't an article too hard to evaluate due to the fact that there wasn't much to evaluate to begin with. What the author had was well wrote and it all was relating to the article's topic. Since Ernest Cherrington was a man that lived in the late 1800s to mid 1900s, there was no information that was out of date by any means, nor was there any bias in the article. The only viewpoints before I added to the document that were represented was his contribution to the Anti-Saloon League, so I decided to add more about his early life and how he had gotten to that point as such an important role and character within the Anti-Saloon League. The article didn't have any citations before I added my information and citations to it, but it did have hyperlinks to other Wikipedia articles that I tried out and indeed work. Within the talk page there are a lot of people arguing with the author who seems to either no longer go onto his Wikipedia page or doesn't care because it turns out the information he has on Ernest Cherrington is all from a different site and he hasn't cited any of the work so a few people have been telling him that it is straight plagiarism and that he also needs to cite his sources when he gets information from them.
