Minor bug with url param

[edit]

When the parameter "url" is used, the mouse over text of the see it link contain the text "url". Like this ( mouseover )Paul (talk) 00:56, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's not a bug, but by design; it shows the link destination. Do you think it should show something else? Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 05:11, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I misread/misunderstood; I see the problem and will apply a fix; consider it done. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 11:47, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support for Google Maps

[edit]

I think we should add additional functionality for the google maps easter eggs using some of these url parameters. For example, if we used the current search function for google maps, the url is maps.google.com/maps?q=Snowdon+to+Brecon+Beacons and the 'egg is not displayed. If the template parameters "origin = Snowdon" and "destination = Brecon Beacons" were added, the url would be google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&origin=Snowdon&destination=Brecon+Beacons. A "travelmode" parameter would also be necessary for 'eggs that only work under public transportation.

I don't understand template syntax, so you could either add these functions, or I could just add it to the article manually using the hidden URL text. Paul (talk) 16:01, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are several different requirements for full maps functionality; gimme a while to ponder the "best" approach, and I'll add it when my eyes are so tired (too many braces and brackets!) Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 19:32, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Let me know if you are finished with your edits, and I will start using the template in the article. So far, it looks good.
Would it be okay if I moved the documentation to Template:See it/doc with WP:TDOC? Paul (talk) 01:54, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, yeah, I'm done. And if you want to move or change the docs, feel free. Let me know if the solution isn't a solution. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 12:23, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
