OWI and broadcasting
[edit]There is a wealth of information about the relationship between the OWI and domestic broadcasters, and also on the international broadcasting efforts of the OWI, in Broadcasting and Broadcast Advertising magazine issues from the war years. Among other things, the OWI's use of NBC's Bound Brook, New Jersey transmitter site was what allowed WJZ to relocate its transmitter to Lodi despite strict rationing of steel and construction materials. 121a0012 (talk) 05:27, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

US Gov't alphabet soup
[edit]I have an undated letter, probably from 1942, from a man saying that he was working at OFF before that office was changed into OWI. Since neither Google nor WP had any direct leads to "OFF", I've added that initial to the parenthetical explanation following "Office of Facts and Figures", and to the disambiguation page for "OFF". A number of additional government offices are mentioned in the same paragraph, which would have their own initialisms (presumably OGR, OEM, etc) that lead to unrelated pages with the same initials, which I have not attempted to fix.
