Southhampton or Southampton
[edit]The nautical charts show Southhampton (double h) as the spelling for this location. --Kevin Murray (talk) 21:40, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
- The US Gazetteer and almost every other reference gives "Southampton Shoal" with a single 'h' and no plural. see [1]. I see that nautical charts use a double 'h', but almost nothing else follows this spelling. It seems that it would be better to rename the article to Southampton Shoal Light with a redirect from the double 'h' spelling and a mention of this alternative spelling in the article. Are there any objections if I proceed with this approach? Rupert Clayton (talk) 16:16, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
