Two different people named Sanpitch

[edit]

As noted on the Sanpitch disambiguation page, there appears to be two people named Sanpitch, one who lived in what is now Sanpete county who died in 1866, and one who was alive in 1870 who was Shoshone. I've updated the page to mention this briefly. Sanpitch (talk) 03:23, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

REverting edits by 208.54.80.155

[edit]

The edits by 208.54.80.155 found in http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Sanpitch_%28Ute_chief%29&type=revision&diff=675798204&oldid=675091202 may have some value, but they completely removed several references and made some obvious mistakes, such as replacing references to Antogna Black Hawk with references to the disambiguation page Black Hawk. I've reverted, but am open to a cleaner and incremental addition of the content.

As a side note, I claim no special knowledge of Sanpitch just because that's my username. I grew up in the Sanpete valley; this is my only (minor) connection. Sanpitch (talk) 06:40, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting edits regarding birthdate

[edit]

A user made an edit indicating that Sanpitch was born at age 55. Maybe this edit was intended to say that Sanpitch died at age 55. An edit that says this and includes the source of the birthdate would certainly be useful. Sanpitch (talk) 19:27, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sahoeech

[edit]

User Giorgio Traverso Coda made an edit that indicates the name of the tribe that Chief Sanpitch was part of was the "Sahoeech" tribe. Unfortunately this edit wasn't sourced, and I found no evidence for this name elsewhere on the internet. I plan to revert this edit. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, and for a source to be found for the name. Sanpitch (talk) 19:41, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
