Notability?
[edit]I'm having trouble trying to establish notability for this person? I had tagged the article with a notability maintenance tag, among other tags such as "Wikify" which still has not been addressed. Some links have been supplied by the creator of this article in an attempt to show notability. However most of the links are blog sourced and the subjects own webpage is also linked from the article. This is not how establishing notability is set out per WP:BIO. Direct links (as footnotes to the actual mentioned published articles) in a "Reference" section have not been provided per WP:LAYOUT as yet. The article needs work and if indeed notability can be established correctly then I see no problem with removing the tag. However at present I do believe the notability tag should remain until the issues are addressed. Google News brings up nothing on this person.Sting_au Talk 23:55, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- This article has been created several times by the subject of the article "Barefoot Rick" and has been speedily deleted before There is no proof that the user who recently recreated the article is the same person, but it uses the same sources and links the same websites. All the sources that are provided are either from answers.com (wikipedia mirror) that has a record of the old wiki page that got deleted or from barefoot ricks own site. The fox news and wallstreet journal links have barefoot rick and many other "barefoot runners" being interviewed about barefoot running. Barefoot rick is not the topic of any of these articles, just a footnote. I've nominated the article for speedy deletion again.Grey Wanderer | Talk 00:05, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

This article certainly reads like something written by the subject, which suggests to me that he's not a notable subject. It looks more like self-promotion than an unbiased biography. Cleanup might help, but I agree that deletion is appropriate. Linguina (talk) 02:53, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just a late follow up here: Now that Rick is an elected Missouri house member the page certainly meets WP:Notability. Grey Wanderer (talk) 23:00, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Whitewashing
[edit]It appears the subject of this article is removing unflattering information, which seems to me to be well sourced and in line with the BLP policies. Curious to hear others opinions. Grey Wanderer (talk) 22:21, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Cleaning
[edit]This article is in terrible shape. 90% of it is devoted to a hobby of the subject and it's gratuitously undue. The subject is best known now for pedophilia and we are going to have to rewrite the article to conform to what he's notable and what reliable sources say.
I'm going to start doing this later this afternoon but if anyone else wants to jump in, feel free.--Jorm (talk) 23:43, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
