Article size

[edit]

Is it time to condense the article? Per Xtools it's over 14,000 words; when I pasted the text contents into Word, it reported over 15,000. WP:Article size suggests that past 9,000 words condensation is worth considering, and that past 15,000 it probably ought to be done. My own rule of thumb is that it's time to chop an article down when the browser freezes on me repeatedly when I try to edit it on my laptop (Chrome on Windows 10) and I have to switch to source editing. That just happened to me here. Largoplazo (talk) 18:32, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling mistake

[edit]

Civil war is misspelt as civial war. My account's not old enough to fix it. Isaachhh (talk) 22:25, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed, thanks. Largoplazo (talk) 22:44, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Typo

[edit]

I don't think i can edit the article but "secratarian" should be sectarian in the second paragraph from last in the intro. Also missing a period after "strategic location" in the last paragraph. Pumpkinbreadhead (talk) 22:20, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thanks. CMD (talk) 01:45, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

History summarizing

[edit]

I appreciate the work done in summarizing the history, but going from the mid-8th century to the early 21st within one paragraph seems too brief. As a reader, I expect at least a little more coverage and a paragraph split, so as to not cram over a millennium of history into such a short spiel. Stefen 𝕋owers among the rest!
