- ... that Palma Vecchio's Saint Barbara (pictured) has been said to express "the noble serenity of a saint who is still a woman"? Source: https://archive.org/details/veniceitshistory01yria/page/260/mode/2up?view=theater

Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Polyptych of Saint Barbara (Palma Vecchio); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Is the hook implying that women generally don't have a noble serenity? That's how I'm reading it, at least... theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (she/her) 09:57, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
- I think "noble serenity" is a pretty rare quality. I think he's saying she has the best divine characteristics of a saint and the best human characteristics of a woman. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 10:03, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
- The article is new enough and nominated timely. It is long enough and is well referenced and cited. I found no copyright violations; AGF for the sources that are not available online. The hook is interesting and sourced, and its length is OK. The image is excellent and is in the public domain; the caption is OK. QPQ was done. So overall it passes for DYK. However I have two questions for the author: I wonder if the hook might be clearer if it said "Palma Vecchio's polyptych of Saint Barbara" instead of simply "Palma Vecchio's Saint Barbara"? And a question about the article's title: Why is the title "Polyptych of Saint Barbara (Palma Vecchio)" instead of simply "Polyptych of Saint Barbara"? There are no other articles about polyptychs of Saint Barbara so I don't see the need for disambiguation. Let's discuss these two issues. -- MelanieN (talk) 17:32, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- @MelanieN: 1. I think the source is talking about the Saint Barbara panel specifically, not the whole altarpiece. 2. On second thought, I've moved the article as you suggest. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 01:19, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, looks good to me. Ready to go. -- MelanieN (talk) 03:34, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note to promoting administrator: The title of this article, and the title of the nomination template, have been changed from "Polyptych of Saint Barbara (Palma Vecchio)" to "Polyptych of Saint Barbara". -- MelanieN (talk) 03:40, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
