[edit]The Virago Press edition gives her name as Marta Hiller, not Hillers. Google gives many references for both versions. The German Wikipedia has no article on her. Does anyone know any more about this? Adam 13:57, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Her name is definitely Hillers. See [Eine Frau in Berlin] or [German newspaper reviews]. 212.185.161.34 11:42, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
I object to the phrase "Kurt Marek recognised its propaganda value". Since the book does a lot to humanize the Russian rapists and plunderers its propaganda value is questionable. Certainly Marek sought to profit from the book whose rights he held, but to suggest that the book is merely cold war propaganda is an inadequate estimation. 212.185.161.34 11:42, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
"had to accomodate"??? What the heck does this mean? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.165.227.226 (talk) 06:39, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
I have done a substantial rewrite to improve both the writing and the referencing. I don't know why the numbering of the footnotes is out of order, perhaps someone can fix this.Intelligent Mr Toad (talk) 12:45, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Better focus in each of related articles
[edit]This article is supposed to be a biography, but has far more content related to the posthumous publications of new editions and the controversy about her identity. It also includes more discussions about the book itself. There is another article supposedly devoted to the book, but I think there is more content about the book in this one, or nearly as much. I think some of this material about the book should be moved to the other article, and this should focus on Hillers' biography, or there do not need to be these two articles. There is also one about the film adaptation of the book.Parkwells (talk) 15:58, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
