I agree that in any article about an individual, living or otherwise, it is appropriate and often helpful, to have a section that includes information on their personal life. Following the recent good faith creation of this article, I took out the section on personal life for at least two reasons: 1) it is so incomplete and really rather weak as it was shown and 2) because of #1, it's really not deserving of an entire section in that state. The reference isn't all that strong or insightful, given that she just simply refers to her children commenting on her writing project. It would certainly be far more substantive if there were a spouse listed, current or previous, the number of children, any additional information, etc. If this isn't available or deemed appropriate, this might be better served to include in and "Early and personal life" section or something of that nature. ChristensenMJ: She must have married a Mr Lewis, and the "W." appears to stand for her maiden name, Wheelwright. She must have married fairly young, because her thesis comes under her married name on WorldCat. But are you able to find a reference please? Obviously, I think the article should focus on her scholarship (particularly her research contributions about the concept of "paradox"), but the personal life section should not be redacted as it is standard as per WP Biography guidelines.Zigzig20s (talk) 21:08, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Zigzig20s. Yes, I get all those natural assumptions, her initials, etc. As noted above, I am not saying a section such as this isn't appropriate and within guidelines. What I am saying is that the section in its current state is very limited, to say the least, and not substantial enough to stand on its own. It shouldn't stay when it's not substantive and doesn't truly add value to the article any more than it should somehow be included just because a guideline indicates a section of that nature is appropriate. User:ChristensenMJ: I believe the standard layout of "early life" followed by "career" followed by "personal life", makes articles much more readable. But I agree with you that the section should be expanded--hopefully two or three lines. That's right! Either way, this does not answer the question. I don't think this is trivial--Philip Delves Broughton in Ahead of the Curve explains that many business school administrators are Mormons.
