'...Shields lived with her family in a rented second floor apartment of a brick bungalow ...'
I thought that a bungalow usually refers to a single story dwelling. How can it have a second floor?

The Bungalow article says "A bungalow is a small house or cottage that is either single-storey or has a second storey built into a sloping roof (usually with dormer windows)"
