Too much info?

[edit]

Is it me, or is there way too much info in this article? Do we really need to know every message that is available on the candy? Or that the colors on the box do not match the colors of the actual candies? The "Sweethearts" (American version) page is much shorter, but really contains only the info that is notable about the candy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.136.192.1 (talk) 17:58, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have to agree that, although I'm a fan of depth and detail, this entry seems to have rather overstepped what's required! --Timetrial (talk) 18:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whatevers?

[edit]

It would be fun to see this text updated with details of Whatevers? Produced by Swizzels Matlow exclusively for ASDA these are the same as Love Hearts but with slightly less traditional messages! (Minger, Chav, Proper, Bothered, You What, Whatever, Mint, Respect, As If are all included!) --Timetrial (talk) 15:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC) http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/news/558319/ another source for whatevers. Are these still sold? 81.187.223.119 (talk) 07:40, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect History

[edit]

History states that Swizzels were formed in 1933 and production of Love Hearts started at this time. According to Swizzels Matlow, the company is celebrating its 80th birthday in 2008 (which would put the formation of the company back to 1928) and that Love Hearts have been in production for 58 years (1950).

Unless the originator of the history text can provide a citation I will look to update this --Timetrial (talk) 09:10, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's some other really wonky chronology too: "Production of Love Hearts began in 1954...." but then "During the Blitz in 1940 production relocated to". --Agentforsythe (talk) 13:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why hasn't this been rectified? Nuttyskin (talk) 01:08, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My Hermaphrodite???

[edit]

I rather suspect that the "Example Messages" section has had some unofficial additions. It shouldn't be there at all without any references, but things like that one and "Franki the Love Bomb" seem *highly* unlikely to say the least. 81.158.1.233 (talk) 02:51, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

+1 - Also "Suck me harder" seems unlikely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.212.13 (talk) 15:23, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"My Hermaphrodite" and "Franki the Love Bomb" were already gone - and I've just removed "Suck Me Harder". (No wonder they were put in - this article is almost crying out to be vandalised!) Jcpren (talk) 22:58, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
However, I *have* encountered a run of Love Hearts specially commissioned for (I think) a Pride event, which had deliberately explicit messages, such as: Fuck Me, Sexy Boy, etc.

No/ Barely any citations!

[edit]

I am not an expert on this topic, but I know thatvthere are not enough citations.. Like I just said, I'm not an expert on this subject, so I cannot do this. Any volenteers? Talk with Daylon ~~> (talk) 16:08, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Combine flavours and ‘sensation in the mouth’

[edit]

Rather new here but I feel like it would make sense to combine the section on flavours and ‘sensation in the mouth’. Perhaps titled as ‘flavour and texture’.

The ‘sensation in the mouth’ section title feels like it doesn’t fit Wikipedia’s tone well and neither does the content of the section. I do feel information on the sweets texture could be useful but phrased more formally perhaps? PlugsTheDog (talk) 13:01, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Whatevers Rebranded

[edit]

Apparently, Asda's Whatevers have been rebranded as chav hearts. https://en.m.wiki.x.io/wiki/Chav#Commercial_effect Nuttyskin (talk) 01:46, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SilkTork's tidy

[edit]

A recent edit by SilkTork (selected as tidy with 1,693 bytes of data removed) removed all information on the flavour of Love Hearts. I was wondering if this should be re-added. TheGamer32 - Red (talk) 16:48, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
