What......?

It is named for the vast amounts of water used to wash its walkways and nourish its live flora and fauna.

???....... The name Khlong Toei literally means "pandan canal" (cf. Khlong_Toei_District#History). I will remove the above sentence from the article. --Dekthep (talk) 11:49, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that someone misread the mention here. In that article, the sentence was referring to the market being called a "wet market". It isn't really relevant, though, so I agree with the removal. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:07, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Khlong Toei District is not the place shown here for the location of the Khlong Toei Market. The location on the map shown here is the Chatuchak Weekend Market, different part of Bangkok. The Khlong Toei slum is where some of the action takes place in The Bangkok Asset by Burdett.
