NRHP-listed works
[edit]Searching in NRIS database 2010 version, find Henry Howard's NRHP-listed works include:
- Madewood, E of Napoleonville on LA 308 Napoleonville, LA Howard,Henry
- Nottoway Plantation House, NW of White Castle White Castle, LA Howard,Henry
- Pontalba Buildings, 500 St. Ann St. and 500 St. Peter St. New Orleans, LA Howard,Henry
- One or more works in Carville Historic District, 5445 Point Clair Rd. Carville, LA Howard,Henry Done (at least the article was created by me and it includes NRHP information from Louisiana historical department site --doncram 04:03, 29 March 2017 (UTC))
There is also, in Washington state, a probably unrelated one:
- Cloverland Garage, CR 01050 Cloverland, WA Howard,Henry
I will try to check those articles for info for this article, likely adding NRHP nominations to them in the process. --doncram 17:39, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- Are you sure that the Edgewood Plantation in Florida is the same as the one designed by Howard? There may have been another one by the same name in Louisiana.Zigzig20s (talk) 18:12, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
- User:Zigzig20s, I expect you are right about that. Sorry how I left it. In one edit I think I fixed the article's linking to Belle Alliance Plantation by dropping "(Louisiana)" but the same change for Edgewood Plantation ended up linking it to the Florida place. Note I did move the Florida article. The next step was/is to make Edgewood Plantation into a disambiguation page. Or, first create an article about the Louisiana one which I assume exists. What info do we have about a Louisiana one? --doncram 04:03, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hmm, i found my way to an "Edgewood", perhaps a plantation I am not sure, as Edgewood (Farmerville, Louisiana) (currently a redlink) in National Register of Historic Places listings in Union Parish, Louisiana. It is covered here in the Louisiana historic properties system, with some info, but no mention of Henry Howard. Do you have access to that Architectural Digest article or book, and does that provide anything specific? I will create article about the Union Parish one anyhow. --doncram 04:13, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- It's online. There is a picture, but nothing more.Zigzig20s (talk) 05:14, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Great, that was enough, as the pic matched the pic at Edgewood (Natchez, Mississippi), which I found my way to by continuing to Google search "Edgewood Plantation Louisiana" somehow. The Wikipedia article did not mention Howard but then I rounded up the NRHP document. Yay, got it. --doncram 06:21, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Good find--Natchez is very close to Louisiana, so it makes sense.Zigzig20s (talk) 07:34, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Short house
[edit]The Robert H. Short House or Colonel Robert Henry Short House (currently a redlink) is probably notable for a separate article. It must have been documented in the Historic American Buildings Survey, because there is this set of photos that looks like HABS work. It is located at 1448 Fourth Street, New Orleans, Orleans Parish.
I don't find a separate NRHP listing for it, but it might be included in a NRHP-listed historic district in New Orleans? That would presumably be Garden District, New Orleans, which is NRHP-listed and a U.S. National Historic Landmark. Gotta see what is in the NRHP documentation there. --doncram 17:29, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Is it this?Zigzig20s (talk) 18:00, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yep it certainly is. I like the fence! Hmm, need to find any HABS description pages / document for material to use in text content of an article, which would be nice to have to link to from this Henry Howard article. --doncram 23:25, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- Got the text document, here. Good to know there are multiple photos uploaded to Commons already. --doncram 23:41, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
- User talk:Doncram: Any progress?Zigzig20s (talk) 11:18, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't see the talk. I improved the Garden District page with the few info from the marker, which is a public marker from the New Orleans Landmarks Commission, therefore public domain, but I agree the Colonel Short's Villa would we worthy of her own page. Doncram, when you do it, since you have already started research, I will update the link from the Garden District to the new page if that is fine with you. --Elisa.rolle (talk) 21:30, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
