@Crowsus: If the Supercopa de España is a major competition, surely the more historic and contested Copa Catalunya is? Isn't it only in the secondary (minor and defunct) table at Derbi barceloní because the men's teams no longer contest it? Kingsif (talk) 21:55, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's because the Supercopa de España is the supercup for Spanish football which is a FIFA-level national setup, while the Copa Catalunya is regional competition which (as your notes confirm) wasn't even important enough for the professional teams to enter for much of the past decade. It devalues your article to suggest it is on the same level as the national league or cup. It deserves to be mentioned, but the minor table is the place for its results. I don't think your comment here is particularly reflective of the actual competitions. The men's Supercopa is the worst, being a glory tour of hand-picked teams, at least the women's teams have to have been winner or runner-up in the previous season to take part. Meanwhile the Copa Catalunya is a fully competitive tournament - which is the actual reason Barcelona and Espanyol have had inconsistent recent participation, the Catalan federation wanting to encourage more teams - and one which, given the age of the two clubs, has been the most important title at different times in their histories.
