tallest building

[edit]

In the introduction the Comcast Center is listed as the 19th tallest building in the U.S., but in the "Building" section it's called the 18th tallest building in the U.S. (Posted 5/3/15.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.13.204.194 (talk) 19:19, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

the comcast center WILL NOT be the talles structure between ny and chicago as the bank of american builing in atlanta is taller. or does the south not count? see: Bank of America PlazaDirk Pitt 16:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_the_United_States I have changed the firs para to read "It will also be the tallest structure in the northern United States between New York City and Chicago, stripping away that title from the Key Tower in Cleveland, Ohio." which is correct.Dirk Pitt 16:39, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

looking at it further i can see where the prob. lies, the comcast center is/will be 975 ft tall with 57 floors. Bank of America Plaza is 1,023 ft tall with 55 floors. looks like people thing floors are always the same height. Dirk Pitt 16:43, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This whole statement seems kind of silly. It's not the tallest in the US, and it's not the tallest between NYC and Chicago longitudinally, it's just taller than the buildings in the midwest? that doesn't strike me as big deal. it's kind of like saying El Paso is the biggest city in the united states, between Phoenix and Dallas. so what, ya know? maybe it's better just to say it's the tallest in philly. -Taco325i 17:22, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
i agree but it seems to be a thing people are saying. it seems worthwhile to say the biggest in the northeast united states so people know its not the biggest in the east. et cetera. Dirk Pitt 20:48, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • people, this building is going to be HOT.

Go here for more info on the building, I don't know if it meets the link standards to be placed on the main article: General property info, more artist rendings, and detailed floor information Taco325i 03:34, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody mentioned that its the largest Green building in the world. i think thats somthing to be proud of (especially sinces ive lived in Philly my hole life.) why is there nothing in the article about that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.161.201.30 (talk) 04:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure this picture belongs on the main article page? So I shall post here Taco325i 18:34, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LEED status

[edit]

Should provide some specifics on LEED status. As written the rating and classification of the Comcast Center Office Building is very vague and somewhat misleading insofar as LEED rating system provides ratings for New Construction (NC), or Core Shell (CS) and provides different levels silver, gold, platinum

Unfortunately, the USGBC web site does not have posted info about any 2009 certified buildings at this point. However, [1] says, "the Comcast Center has been awarded the title of “tallest LEED certified building in the US” after earning a Gold Certification for LEED-CS (Core & Shell)." This is a consensus among related articles. I wasn't sure just how much of this article could be included here in Wikipedia, but there's a lot of information within it about specifics of its LEED elements. Template:Supertall skyscrapers should not be placed here

[edit]

I am posting this because some people may not agree with the removal of the template. The Comcast Center is 297 m or 975 feet tall. Although it's just under the requirement for supertall skyscraper status (at least 300 m or 984 feet), the Comcast Center is not a supertall skyscraper. The article is not in the template as well. WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 03:39, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photos of interior, and looking out

[edit]

Would there be any value of having interior pictures from Comcast Center? I will be in the building for the next few days, and I could take some photos. Not going to do it, though, if this is contrary to Wikipedia standards for office buildings. - Fawn Lake (talk) 15:00, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see no reason you why you shouldn't. Views from a tall building are rather standard when it comes to skyscrapers. Interiors may even be more helpful. If the article is ever expanded pictures of the interior would be useful to illustrate the building's architecture. Please make sure you upload them to WikiCommons and put them on Comcast Center's commons page. Medvedenko (talk) 05:05, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for these helpful suggestions. Although, I may not be contributing these photographs if the online harrassment and wiki-stalking continues from this user. - Fawn Lake (talk) 14:48, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Artistic pic reverted

[edit]

I have reverted this change in the infobox picture, it's a pretty picture but it's probably not a good choice for that usage. ++Lar: t/c 15:00, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This HDR adjusted picture (link) keeps finding its way back into the article, much to my dismay. If artistic and jarring renderings of subjects are now encouraged in Wikipedia articles, then damn I have some really awesome ideas for sprucing up a few popular articles! Until then, why don't we put this to a "community" "vote"? -- Thekohser 15:09, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see how the picture is jarring. It is the only picture of the building's top and just because you think it is "artistic" because of how it was taken does not mean it should be removed. The only reason it was removed in March was because it replaced File:Comcastcenter vertical.jpg long before the article had room for both images. If you have a better image of the Comcast Center's top, please add it. Medvedenko (talk) 15:18, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We typically don't use "artistic" or distorted pictures as illustrations, preferring pictures that are true/accurate representations, unless the picture itself is significant or worthy of comment. I don't think that's the case here. Please don't edit war over it... the poll below is not a bad idea. ++Lar: t/c 01:25, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I want this HDR imaging picture included in the article about the building (sign below with a hash mark and four tildes)

Before viewing the HDR pix, I replaced File:Comcastcenter vertical.jpg, with my own File:Comcast Philly.JPG which I consider to be marginally better. It's difficult to tell with your own pix however, so I request anybody to revert if they think the 1st was better. The HDR pix is something and I would also invite anybody to go back to that. More needed

[edit]

How about mentioning the concourse which links to Septa's Suburbin Station and the the tenants in the concourse, as well as the outside cafe in the courtyard. There is a cafe on the 43/44 floor called Ralph's Cafe for the staff of the building as well as a steak house on the premise too. Expansion needs to be address too.--Cooly123 (talk) 16:51, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The concourse is mentioned, most individual stores and restaurants aren't feasible because they could easily change without any news sources noting it. I have added Ralph's Cafe. I'll add a note on the planned other tower somewhere. Medvedenko (talk) 04:44, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

– The other two buildings on the disambiguation page are titled "Xfinity Center", not "Comcast Center". Plus, of the three buildings, this follows WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, as this is the official headquarters of Comcast. 2601:8C:4001:DCB9:8BB:55F:E0BA:1473 (talk) 15:33, 27 June 2017 (UTC) --Relisting.
