Due for an own article?
[edit]Is this really due for an own article already? As of now the corresponding section in the DOGE article appears more throughout, but also not long enough that it would suggest this needs to be carved out. As of now this feels a bit like WP:TRUMPHATE, especially also considering recent events on Reddit regarding this whole situation. Mystic Cornball (talk) 16:59, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I doubt it would pass a deletion attempt with the current state of WP->MSM->WP coverage, but I do believe this article requires heavy neutering. "Takeover" is a heavy claim to levy, and linking the Business Plot is actually deranged. We need to tame it and give it a month. Ornov Ganguly TALK 18:58, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I just had to remove Business Plot again. Incredible things happening Mystic Cornball (talk) 22:39, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I think this article is a textbook case of WP:CFORK with respect to the DOGE article and should be merged with it. (I'm seriously tempted to propose the merger now but I've decided to let this thread play out a bit.) "But this article is about Musk, not DOGE. It's about things he's doing unofficially." My counterargument: Musk's actions with regards to the federal government are very difficult to disentangle from those of DOGE, probably by design, and DOGE does not officially exist—Congress did not authorize it, rather Trump willed it into being. Thus, everything Musk and DOGE are doing is unofficial. Carguychris (talk) 19:58, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, it reads like WP:NPOVFORK. The Chronicle source is misleading, and the Wired one is more of an opinion piece outside of their specialty in tech news. Hi! (talk) 20:12, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Why was this unilaterally moved out of Article space?
[edit]Where is the discussion and concensus? -- Very Polite Person (talk) 21:45, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
ANI report filed
[edit]I can't even tell what happened--don't move things this 'hot' without consensus. I can't even find/see the full move history now as some of you went a bit out of line wild with the aggressive moves.
Please stop. -- Very Polite Person (talk) 21:59, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Article talk page is not the place to advertise your frivolous ani report. — hako9 (talk) 22:13, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- I suggest you take a deep breath and step down and back; there's an active dispute on the article name and users unilaterally moving this to multiple spaces. Let it work out. -- Very Polite Person (talk) 22:14, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- It isn't a frivolous report, but it is in the wrong space. @Very Polite Person - Your concerns are valid but WP:ANI is the place for admin involvement of user disputes. I would suggest removing it from there, but you did the right thing posting here. — That Coptic Guyping me! (talk) (contribs) 22:19, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
On draft move
[edit]@RadioactiveBoulevardier: Per WP:DRAFTNO#5, you should nominate for deletion instead of moving to draft. — hako9 (talk) 21:54, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
US -> U.S.
[edit]For anyone looking to do another contentious page move: per MOS:US, the title, and the content of the article should use "U.S." and not "US", as this article should be in American English. I will leave fixing this to someone braver than I. //Lollipoplollipoplollipop::talk 23:13, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
