Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk (stylized as Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk...) is a 2021 psychological horror visual novel game developed by Russian game developer Nikita Kryukov. The game is a sequel to Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk and takes place immediately following its conclusion.

The game was published to Steam on December 16, 2021. On November 11, 2022, the game and its prequel were ported to the Nintendo Switch by Forever Entertainment.

Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk takes place immediately after the end of the first game,[1] with the protagonist readying themselves for bed as they deal with their intrusive thoughts.[2]

Gameplay

Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk is a visual novel, with the player reading thoughts and spoken words from the protagonist, and making dialogue choices.[3] The game also contains point-and-click adventure mechanics, when the player gets to look through items in the protagonist's room to learn more about her.[2]

The game was released on Steam and itch.io in December 2021,[1] and for Nintendo Switch in November 2022.[4]

Reception

PC Gamer called the game a "short and visually striking adventure", and gave special praise for avoiding a happy ending that would have undermined its narrative.[5] Oliver Shellding of Way Too Many Games and Steven Licardi of Rely on Horror cited Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk as an example of a game that effectively portrays mental health issues.[2][6]
