Gavin A. Lawrence (born c. 1973) is a United States Army major general who served as the commanding general of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.[2] He now serves as the deputy chief of staff for logistics and operations of the United States Army Materiel Command.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Lawrence graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, in 1991.[3] He then attended the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations in 1995 and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. His advanced education includes a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.[4]
Military career
[edit]Lawrence served as the deputy chief of staff for logistics of the United States Army Forces Command.[5]
In July 2024, Lawrence was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as deputy commanding general and chief of staff of the United States Army Materiel Command.[6][7]
