KKK

[edit]

Why does the monster have a head of a clansman? One would think that nazis liked that kind of organizations

  • As oppose to what modern media wants people to believe, the Knights of KKK never did like the nazis. The nazis tried to make an american movement in the US, but whenever they had rallies the KKK were there and knocked the shockles out of the nazis. Reason is simple: they regarded the nazis as un-american (rightly so). Even simpler: they were a threat (as in competition) to the Knights of the KKK.

What surprises me more is the fact that this poster is copyrighted. "Don't make a copy of this poster and put it up anywhere, or you'll be arrested for copyrightinfringement" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.243.152.55 (talk) 00:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kinda biizzare that the poster condems the US for anti black violence awhile simultaneously denouncing The presence of blacks in U.S. population, contributing to its "mongrelization" !?!?! 80.229.222.48 (talk) 19:11, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationalist dont really like other nationalist, chauvanist dont like others version of chauvanism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.172.201.2 (talk) 13:09, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Come on, think you guys. Propaganda against the USA targeted at the Dutch public. The nazis are showing the superlative of their own deeds, even though they deny their own deeds in this picture I believe. Best way to put it into English sorry, Mallerd (talk) 21:01, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

National-Socialism wasn't really white supremacist , they ware more like discriminant to the jews and Gypsies but don't really think so about the black people. While KKK ware fully racist in every aspect. + In Fascist Italy there ware Jews in the government and most probably in the military so Fascism is not allays necessarily racist. Backwards Flag?

[edit]

I don't think so. A flag blowing in the wind is never backwards. Have you ever seen any type of military uniform before? That aside, why would Nazi propaganda artists depict Americans waving their own flag backwards? This needs to be stricken from the notations. I think the commenter was reading way too much into things. The mere presence of the Army Air Corps symbol does not equate to "demonization". The headdress on Miss America might be saying more against Native Americans than anything about their abuse. I don't know how he came up with that massive line about how 'blacks are mongrels and primitive' and the statement influenced one of the commenters on this discussion page.

The notes should help in depth examination of the picture, and not cloud it with frivolous conjecture. --67.172.13.176 (talk) 09:08, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the artist had admired the U.S. flag as a symbol, then he would have shown the wind blowing the flag from the left, instead of from the right. U.S. national symbols play a prominent role in the whole figure who is depicted as destroying Europe. Nazis regarded jazz as "degenerate music", and derided Black influences on U.S. popular culture. Its nothing to do with admiration, it just doesn't look like its doing anything other than being rushed into battle. Did they even think 'backwards' flags were disrespectful then? I'm just asking that the editor not totally assume every aspect of the image. He is reading too much into the picture, its quite obvious. For example, the figure representing America itself has a Ku-Klux-Klan mask on. This isn't because they're asking America to be racist against blacks, they're talking to their own people. Not to mention, Miss America is about to take pull off that same mask. What does that mean? And I just notice that the circle symbol on the plane's other wing is transparent through Miss Victory's skirt... --67.172.13.176 (talk) 11:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there is a "circle symbol", or that she's wearing a skirt -- that's just Miss Victory's left knee and thigh seen in oblique foreshortened view. And come on, the U.S. flag is seen backwards, with the tip of a KKK hood slanting across it diagonally -- don't you think that this indicates some slight degree of negative attitude? Specification of cultural landmarks

[edit]

The Cultural Landmark underneath the left bomb shape foot of the monster seems to be a caricature of the Ridderzaal (Knight's hall) in The Hague, The Netherlands, the main building of the political center in the Netherlands. The towers are drawn much broader then they are in reality though, which casts some doubts. The fontain in front of it resembles the fontain that's found on the square in front of the Ridderzaal, reassuring this belief. Also, it would make a lot of sense to have the monster destroy the politcal heart. Link to Ridderzaal wiki: [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.230.62.226 (talk) 00:48, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll whole hartedly have to agree with that, also, the church to the left of the Ridderzaal is the Nieuwe Kerk(New Church), which is where the Dutch Royal family holds their state ceremonies, which is also an important historical building and a famous landmark of Den Haag(The Hague). 86.84.135.157 (talk) 19:54, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When I click on that link, I get a smallish (361x512) image of the alternative version (Kultur-Terror not Liberators) mentioned on the image desxcription page... AnonMoos (talk) 21:38, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jerome van Aken

[edit]

Since this poster was meant for the dutch audience, they used the style of Hieronymus Bosch. That's an interesting approach. BTW, there is an LGM alien visible in the the foreground of the poster. Is that a later addition? 91.82.37.214 (talk) 11:13, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's the back of the head of the "European gullible 'all-ears' dupe"... AnonMoos (talk) 21:04, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

African-Americans

[edit]

I really do not get it. It shows the U.S.A. being a bad nation for the mistreatment of Blacks, yet is shows that they are also "Stupifying" America. --70.68.27.161 (talk) 23:12, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Polemicists and propagandists are not necessarily always too concerned with strict consistency... AnonMoos (talk) 11:18, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I mean Nazi Germany did not exactly refrain from bombing Dutch cities either!2605:6000:770D:1B00:20C8:FD43:ECBC:C98 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:30, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
