Summary

Description
English: A narrow gap in the NNE rim of 7.5-km-wide Pleistocene Brouton caldera on Urataman volcano in the Kuril Islands allows access of the sea into Brouton Bay. The caldera floor lies 250 m beneath the sea surface, and the rim rises 450 m above it. A central cone, andesitic Urataman volcano, has grown to a height of 678 m during the Holocene in the SE part of the caldera.
