English: The Ramakien Cloisters are the first area to see in Wat Phra Kaeo, these picture are large and cover a whole wall. They all use lots of gold leaf in the design.
The Wat Phra Kaeo galleries, the murals of which depict the story of the Ramakien, Thailand's National epic. The initial stages of the war waged by Rama of Ayodthaya to rescue his wife who had been abducted by Thotsakan (Ravana), King of Longka. King Rama I (1782-1809) wrote his own version of the Ramakien, dividing it into five long episodes. Bangkok, Thailand.
