Description

St. Augustine, Florida: Mission Nombre de Dios site. Approximate location of where Pedro Menéndez de Avilés landed in 1565, after which he founded St. Augustine.

A plaque showing the locations of a third of the Spanish Missions, focusing on what is now the southeast United States. The plaque is titled Florida Missions of the First Spanish Period 1565 - 1763.
