English: Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog perched atop pool filter basket, in the foothills of Lake Tahoe in a backyard in the Carson Range in Nevada. This individual is a good representative of a small population that has attempted to colonize this swimming pool for at least a decade. I have seen the undersides many times and observed their behavior for years and they are unquestionably yellow-legged Sierra mountain frogs. This population seems to have more banding on the backs than the more well-observed California phenotypes, but otherwise seems identical. The surrounding area seems lush with these frogs, even though the eastern shore of Tahoe and Carson Range are not currently included in the frog's range map. Recommend to the IUCN and all biological surveys that the eastern shore of Tahoe, Carson Range, and Washoe Lake be included in further surveys regarding this endangered species.
