English: Two individual flowers of the paperbark species Melaleuca linariifolia, isolated from a single inflorescence. On left, partially opened bud; on right, fully opened with extended stamens. Photographed on a black background with ruler for scale.
The bud is approximately 5 mm long, whilst the five extended stamens are each 10–15 mm. Overall colour is of the prominent and branched pale yellow stamens; pistil has pinkish-reddish tinge, base grades from reddish brown to green.
Specimen collected somewhere on Whitby Road, Kings Park NSW AU. Lat-long approximate.
Photograph post-processed off-camera for cropping, colour balance, and contrast level (black and white paper backgrounds assumed near-neutral and used as targets for two-point colour channel alignment).
