Description
English: I created this diagram displaying the hypothetical evolution of the PHL 5038AB system according to Casewell et al. 2024: https://arxiv.org/abs/2404.05488 I use here the case of a circular orbit for the brown dwarf to simplify the diagram. The outer stable edge of the disk around the white dwarf is here assumed to be 24.5 AU (in between the 17-32 AU outer edge mentioned in the paper). The outer stable edge would be 5-6 AU for an elliptical orbit of the brown dwarf.
