Summary

Nicolaas Beets (1814-1903) was a well-known Dutch preacher, poet and man of letters. He was born in Haarlem and died 1903 in Utrecht where he taught theology.

among his compositions are the following:

Proza en poëzy (1840) Korenbloemen (1853) Verstrooide gedichten (1863) Madelieven (1869) Najaarsbladen (1881) Dennenaalden (1900)

Three of Beets' hymns appear in Geestelijke Liederen (H Medema) Nos 36, 48 & 77.
