DescriptionMixed-consist MAX train arriving at Sunset TC in 2012.jpg
Portland, Oregon: This MAX light-rail train arriving westbound at the Sunset Transit Center is a "mixed consist", a train made up of two different types of light rail vehicles (LRVs). Car 110 (TriMet "Type 1") is a high-floor Bombardier car (built in the mid-1980s), while the second car is a low-floor Siemens car (of TriMet "Type 2", built in 1996–2000). In this instance, the older LRV has the newer paint scheme, and the second car is wearing TriMet's 1980–2002 paint scheme. Car 110 has two pantographs, the second of which (lowered in this photo) is only for cutting through ice on the wires.
