English: This mixed-design ANOVA example image is derived from Andy Field's mixed-design ANOVA example from Discovering Statistics Using SPSS (3rd ed.).
One of the repeated measures is the looks of a confederate/undercover person in the study which has three levels (very attractive, moderately attractive, and highly unattractive). The other repeated measure is the personality of the confederate which has three levels (highly charismatic, moderately charismatic, and extremely dull. Because these measures are repeated, each participant experienced each level of each repeated measure.
The between-subject measure is the gender of the participant which has two levels (female and male). This is between-subjects because the participants are either of one gender or the other and cannot be both in this example.
