Summary

Description
English: These pictures are from Mawphlang Sacred Groves, Meghalaya, India. These groves are acres of virgin forests. Because of cultural beliefs, nothing from this forest is to be brought outside it. It is commonly believed by the tribe to whom that forest belongs that if anything is taken out of the forest, then it will bring environmental problems in the society. Hence, these have been protected by the tribe.
