English: Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Heathrow Airport, London, a radio navigation aid to help aircraft land in poor visibility conditions. This is the localizer antenna array at the end of a runway. It transmits a sharp fan-shaped beam of radio waves at a frequency between 108 and 111.95 MHz off the end of the runway, to guide aircraft to line up on the runway. It consists of an array of yagi antennas.
