en:Warner Bros./en:Reprise Records advertisement for their 1970 promo LP The Big Ball. See here for release details. Scanned by myself, and cropped down to only this image of The Kinks. This ad is from before 1971, as it plugs the The Big Ball - a 1970 loss leader release - as well as only two other promo packages; Record Show and Songbook, from 1969. The above link shows that others would soon follow, like Zapped and Schlagers. See for dates Miller, Andy, The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society, p. 126. Also note how the advertisement describes the record as "a classy two-record album, 28 stereo selections crammed with good musical things on four full sides, all new stuff for 1970 ... [T.B.B.]'s two ancestors, SONGBOOK and RECORD SHOW, were sent to a whole lot of satisfied orderers-by-mail in 1969." See image below.
