Summary
| Description |
English: The two baseball diamonds adjacent to Neponsit Beach Hospital at the east end of Jacob Riis Park, on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at the roundabout in Rockaway, Queens. The land was originally part of the hospital property, but was ceded back to the park in 1959 and the two baseball fields were constructed under the watch of Robert Moses. The beach in front of the hospital was also ceded back to the park.
Note that the grass on the field has been allowed to grow out, with the entire infield save for home plate and the pitchers mound covered in grass. Sad. |
