Description
English: King Henry VIII (1509-1547) on his way to open Parliament on 4th February 1512. Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham (1478-1521), KG, walks ahead carrying the Sword of State. Another peer holds the Cap of Maintenance. detail from The Procession of Parliament 1512, a 5.5 metre long vellum parchment roll, Library of Trinity College, Cambridge, shelfmark O.3.59[1] Complete roll:[2]. An early 17th century copy exists in the British Library (Add MS 22306 )
