AWM caption : "At sea. c. 1913. Detailed shot of the cruiser HMAS Melbourne taken from the top of the forward mast (foremast). Note the various ship's boats with oars stowed and the detail of four of the ship's 6 inch gun mountings and its four funnels."


Comment : The guns are BL 6inch Mk XI.
