Description: A well-known authority on the anatomy of the brain, Elizabeth Caroline Crosby (1888-1983) was first woman to receive a full professorship at the University of Michigan Medical School and was a recipient of the National Medal of Science in 1979. This photo was distributed in connection with her 1950 award from the American Association of University Women.
