English: Eglinton Street railway station (site), Glasgow Opened in 1879 by the Caledonian Railway on the line from Glasgow Central to Newton, this station closed in 1965. Today the line through the station is still part of the West Coast Main Line.
View south towards Rutherglen and Newton. The towers containing the staircases were still extant in the distance when this image was taken. Mounds could also be seen where the platforms had been.
