English: A recent (2006) trench-sawn road cut exposure of the 6 foot thick Cottonwood Limestone made in course of improvements to the K-18 highway in Manhattan, Kansas, 2000 feet west of the interchange with K-113. Just visible is the subtle variations in color, texture, and siliceous nodules between the upper and lower "ledges". The softer Eskridge Shale is seen below and remnants of the Florena Shale and other material is seen above.
