Object history
English: Coat of arms of the Danish town Skælskør. Based on 1608 town seal. The arms show the bridge between the two parts of the town, the local church and the local city hall. The small escallop is canting as the town's name is derives from "Skælfisk-ør" which means "shellfish beach".
Dansk: Skælskørs byvåben. Beseret på bysegl fra 1608. Våbnet viser broen mellem byens to dele, kirken og rådhuset. Muslingeskallen er talende, idet byens navn er afledt af "Skælfisk", der betyder skaldyr og "-ør", der betyder gruset strandbred.
