Description
English: Brothel License, 22 May 1857, New Orleans. Entitled Emma Pickett, having paid tax in accordance with Ordinance 8267 "concerning Lewd and Abandoned Women" to occupy space other than on ground floor of a building at #25 St. John Street (now Loyola Avenue) between Gravier & Perdido until 31 January 1858. Signed by New Orleans mayor Charles M. Waterman.
