View northward, towards Edinburgh: ex-Caledonian Carstairs/Symington - Edinburgh main line. The station had been closed since 18/4/66. Until 6/9/65, the trains terminated at Princes Street station in Edinburgh. The line was electrified in 1989 and the train approaching is a southbound GNER Inter-City electric.
