Gezicht in de vergaderzaal (voormalige danszaal van het Stadhouderlijke Paleis) met de leden, allen met lint van de representant. Links de voorzitter Pieter Paulus, links vooraan een spreker op het spreekgestoelte. Op de achtergrond de volle publieke tribune.
English: First session of the National Assembly in The Hague, Batavian Republic (of The Netherlands), from March 1, 1796 to August 31, 1797. View of the assembly hall (former ballroom of the Stadtholder's Palace) with its members, all with the ribbon of representative. Left the chairman (speaker) Peter Paul, at the front left a speaker at the lectern. In the background the full public gallery.
