Edgar Leonardo Martínez Fracchia (born 26 January 1979) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player who played as a centre-back. He is the manager of Rampla Juniors.

Managerial career

Martínez announced his retirement in June 2019,[1] being an assistant of Edgardo Arias at Rampla Juniors before being himself named manager on 25 October 2020.[2] He was later replaced by Rubén Silva.

Martínez stepped out of retirement in February 2022, after signing for La Luz, and subsequently played for Atenas de San Carlos before again hanging up his boots in 2023. On 10 April 2024, he was again appointed manager of Rampla.[3]

Personal life

Martínez's younger brother Williams was also a footballer and a centre-back. He died by suicide in 2021, aged 38.[4]
