Carlo Antonio Tavella (1668 - 1738) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, active mainly in Genoa.

Tavella was born in Milan to a Genoese merchant, and died in Genoa. He was initially the pupil of the painter Giuseppe Merati, then later of a painter by the name of Johann Gruembroech or Greuenbrech, commonly called Solfarolo. Later in 1695, Tavella worked in the studio with the Dutch painter Pieter Mulier (Molyn) called Cavalieri Tempesta or il Tempesta. Worked as a landscape painter for Alessandro Magnasco and Domenico and Paolo Piola. He helped decorate the Palazzo Franchi. Tavella had daughters by of the name of Angiola and Teresa who was a painter. Among his other pupils was Niccolo Micone, or as he is commonly called by his fellow-citizens Lo Zoppo.
